[edit: response to Candace below] This office enforces a blanket no-parent presence policy during treatment that directly violates AAPD guidelines and ignores current scientific and clinical evidence (see evidence below). The AAPD recommends, as best practice, that pediatric dentists individualize treatment decisions with the specific parent and child in mind. Dr. Light appears to be out of touch with the preponderance of evidence showing that parental involvement yields both scientifically validated benefits and positive clinical outcomes. This evidence only strengthens the pointβbecause parents already have the right to be present when their minor child receives medical care. The AAPD 2024 Behavior Guidance for the Pediatric Dental Patient states: - βThe objectives of parental presence/absence for parents are to: participate in examinations and treatment; offer physical and psychological support; and observe the reality of their childβs treatment.β (p.364) - βTechniques must be integrated into an overall behavior guidance approach individualized for each child.β (p.362) - βParents will expect to be with their infants and young children during examinations as well as during

We have always had a great experience. We have 3 kids who have grown and almost all graduated out of Dr Light's practice.

The entire experience at LPD is AMAZING. From the moment you walk through the doors to the time you leave. My 2.5 year old daughter and I just visited again today for an exam and my daughter had a wonderful time! Yes, you read that correctly, my toddler had a wonderful time VISITING THE DENTIST! The front desk staff greeted her and made her feel so special when she arrived, then we were called back to an exam room where a staff member went over history and then made her a balloon animal to play with while we waited for Dr. Light. Dr. Light has the best energy, sheβs so positive and upbeat, while also taking care to make her little patients feel cared for. She talked to us for a while and once we were ready to start the exam, she let me take some time to explain to my girl, who was a little bit nervous, what we were going to do. She then moved with gentle confidence to position my girl for the exam and talked reassuringly and sang to her the entire time. It was the BEST experience. Not a tear shed! We left with a bouncy ball, a couple of stickers, and a very happy and relaxed toddler. I canβt say enough great things about LPD and Dr. Light herself. I feel so fortunate to have foun

Both of my girls adore Dr Light and her staff. They love coming to the office. Everything is bright and made for kiddos. But most importantly their staff is amazing and make my kids enjoy learning about and caring for their teeth!!

Phenomenal staff and physician. I didn't think we would like anyone as much as we liked Dr. Badger but she has been awesome and my children love her and the staff (that says a lot for a dentist). A very happy parent!!
